Bolos De Figo (Fig and Almond Candy)
1 2/3 c Shelled almonds
Grated zest of 1 orange
11 oz Figs, fresh or dried
2 1/2 oz Semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
4 tb Water
1 c Sugar
Heat the almonds in the oven until brown, then peel them. Mince the
orange zest, figs, chocolate and almonds in a food processor or
blender. Boil the water and sugar until thick and syrupy, then add
the other ingredients. Allow the mixture to cool on a plate, then
shape it into small balls and roll them in sugar. Serve with coffee.
