Plum Berry Compote
2 1/2 c Red wine
1/2 c Water
1 lb Plums
1 pt Blackberries
Peel of 1/2 orange
3 Cinnamon sticks
1/4 ts Allspice
1/4 c Sugar
1/4 c Port
In non-aluminum saucepan heat wine & water until simmering. Add plums,
orange peel, cinnamon sticks, allspice & sugar. Cook, simmering for
about 6 minutes. Add blackberries. Cook 2 minutes. Stir gently. Add
port. Pour into serving bowls. Let cool. Serve with whipped cream.
Approximately 8-10 minutes.
