Autumn Fruit Compote 1 lb Rhubarb - sliced; (450g)
2 Pears - sliced
8 oz Plums - stones removed and halved; (225g)
3 tb Water; (3 to 4)
2 Oz; (50-75g) caster, (2 to 3) sugar to taste
1/2 Schwartz Vanilla Pod - split
1 Schwartz Cinnamon stick - broken in 2
Place all the fruit in a large saucepan with the water, sugar,
Vanilla Pod and Cinnamon Stick. Simmer for 10 - 15 minutes until
fruit is tender.
Cool and remove the Vanilla Pod and Cinnamon Stick just before
serving. Serve with cream, or as the filling for a crumble or pie.
