Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp. flour
1/2 c. sour cream
1/4 c. bread crumbs
4 tbsp. unsalted butter or margarine
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cook prunes in lemon juice and 2 cups of water until soft. Remove with slotted spoon. Cook liquid on slow heat and reduce it by half. Sift flour into sour cream and whip mixture into prune liquid. Simmer for 5 minutes. Place prunes in ovenproof dish. Pour liquid over prunes, sprinkle with bread crumbs, dot with margarine. Bake for 30 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
