Brandied Fruit

1 flat can chunk pineapple
1 (16 oz.) can apricot halves
1 (16 oz.) can peaches
1 jar maraschino cherries


Drain juice from fruit. Add 1 cup fruit and 1 cup sugar alternately every two weeks. Each time add 1/4 cup cherries, cut in half. Mix together and put in 1/2 gallon glass jar with lid. Do not tighten lid. Set in a warm place. If not too hot, set jar in sun until starts to ferment. Add 1/4 cup cherries each time. Then start oven, add until jar is 1/2 to 2/3 full. Add 1/4 cup cherries each time. This is good topping for vanilla ice cream or over pound cake.
