Cheery Cherry Dessert
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
1 (16 oz.) can cherries, drained
1 c. coconut, shredded
1 pkg. yellow cake mix (enough for 2 layers)
1 c. pecans, coarsely chopped
3/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
In 9 x 13 inch pan mix the cherry pie filling with drained cherries; check for pits. Sprinkle with coconut. Sprinkle on the dry cake mix. Sprinkle pecans over cake mix. Drizzle with melted butter or margarine. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool. Cut into squares and top with whipped topping or ice cream. Serves 8 to 10.
