Cherry Boils

2 sticks margarine
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 to 1 tsp. almond extract
3 c. flour
1 can cherry pie filling


Cream the margarine and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and mix. Add baking powder, salt, extracts and mix. Add flour one cup at a time. Spread 2/3 of the mixture in a greased jelly roll pan. Spoon cherry pie filling on top and spread it over the batter. Then spoon remaining dough on top and spread. it will not cover entirely. Let cherries show through. Bake at 350 degrees until batter checks done with a toothpick. Check after 15 minutes usually takes 20 minutes or so.
