Date Balls

1 3/4 stick margarine
8 oz. pkg. chopped dates
1 c. sugar
2 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. chopped pecans
Confectioners' sugar

In a heavy saucepan, over medium low heat, melt margarine. Add dates and sugar, cook until thick, stirring often. This should take 5-10 minutes. Be sure not to cook the mixture at too high a temperature or too long or it will become hard. When mixture is thick, remove it from heat and mix in the Rice Krispies and nuts. Let cool for 5 minutes. Shape into small balls and roll in confectioners' sugar.
