Date Balls

1 c. sugar
1 (8 oz.) box chopped dates
1/4 lb. margarine
1 egg, beaten


Cook together for 10 minutes. Add 2 cups Rice Krispies and 1 cup chopped nuts. Drop by teaspoons in coconut. Roll until well covered with buttered fingers. (Mixture will be hot!) Store in covered container when cooled.
