1/2 pound small fresh figs (about 18) -- quartered
3/4 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cloves
2 cups 2% milk
1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind
3 large eggs -- lightly beaten
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Place figs in a 10-inch deep-dish pie plate coated with cooking spray. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cup; level with a knife. Combine flour, sugar, salt and cloves in a bowl. Gradually add half of the milk, stirring with a whisk. Stir in remaining milk, rind and eggs. Pour batter over figs. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until set; cool.
