Nectarine Chutney

3 cups nectarines (about 4) -- coarsely chopped
1 small onion (1/4 cup) -- chopped
1/3 cup golden raisins
1/4 cup cider vinegar
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1 teaspoon crystallized ginger -- chopped
3/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper


Mix all ingredients in 3-quart saucepan. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Store tightly covered in refrigerator up to 2 months.

Serve warm or cold with grilled chicken, pork, beef or lamb.
